Meet at: Forest parking up narrow, steep lane immediately left after Queens Head Pub
We make our way to Cwmyoy before encountering the first of two steep, sustained ascents of the route to Hatterall Hill ridge. Going north before we pick up a diagonal descent on the Beacons Way to the Priory (toilets) for a lunch stop. Crossing the valley again we head up Cwm Bwchel to Bal Bach which is the second steep, sustained ascent. The final section of the route is south along the ridge and back to the start. Stout footwear essential together with appropriate clothes for mountain hiking and expected weather. Poles advised as some tricky underfoot conditions.
